ACCESS Software Installation The installation CD has the ACCESS software program, installation program, and a few additional files that need to be copied to your hard disk. 1. Insert the CD in your CD drive. We will use drive “D” as our example. 2. Close unnecessary programs that are running, such as Internet Explorer. 3. Use “My computer” to open a window for Drive D 4. Run the program Setup.exe 5. Depending on your system you may need to restart the computer and begin again at #3 above 6. Select the default options offered by the setup program 7. If you get a message saying “keep your old file?” answer Yes 8. Ignore any message about “Expsrv.dll” 9. Make a directory called “Fount” on your C:\ drive. 10. Check the file called Daily.fsf copied into the C:\Fount folder. Right click on the copied file and check its properties to make sure this file is NOT copied as a read-only file. (or the scheduler will crash trying to write to it). 11. A program menu entry will be made for the software You should be ready to run. The installation program will put the appropriate dll and ocx files in the system directory. On XP machines the ntport drivers (that allow the software to talk to the parallel port) must be reloaded. Click on the ntport zip file. The password to expand the drivers is in the file name. Operation notes: ACCESS stores complete 40 character file names. Please do not put your .WAV files in buried subdirectories (or with long names) or they will be clipped.
